If you have been able to take a look around on my website, then you know know a few things about me! I live in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and I am a lifestyle photographer. There is so much more to me and how I got to where I am today. If you want to learn more about me and how I become a photographer, then stick around and read more below!

Being creative was something that came easy to me as a child. I always was drawing, painting, and taking pictures with my point and shoot camera. Being creative was in my DNA. I loved music and have played the Violin for 12 years! I defiantly was not the best in school and always struggled with math and science, haha. At the end of high school I was fully convinced that I wanted to be in the medical field. Either being a nurse or an EMT is where I saw myself going. Great career field, great money, always in demand. Something I told myself as I was trying to navigate my post-high school plans.

Well, neither of those career fields lined up. So, I decided to do photography, right?! Nope! I joined the Air Force at 18! This was my safe zone. I join the military, get my education and get out. Simple and easy! I served for 4 years in Nebraska and at the end of my third year, I knew that the military and the medical field was not meant to be. I am so thankful for the Lord's guidance in my life to show me the things I do not like, as it guided me to where I was meant to be.

I started on my bachelors in 2019 to earn my graphic design degree. At this point in my life, I have decided that, "yes, I still want to do something creative, but it needs the be safe and in demand." As I started on my degree, I somehow came across an ad on Facebook for a photography course. It was free, so I went for it. It was a short course on how to start a photography business and basics of photography. I was so intrigued and wanted to learn more and more! So, I decided to look for a decent camera online and my husband fully supported my decision and we found a camera!

In October of 2020, I decided to photograph some of my friends and see if I was any good at this. Well, I definitely wasn't great, but I had a lot of potential! I had an eye for editing and already had a basic understanding of LightRoom. I decided to go for it. I created an Instagram page and started posting my work! I had a decent amount of clients back in Nebraska and I really felt that I was making my way and setting myself up for success. And then in 2021, I separated from active duty and my husband and I picked up our life and moved to HAWAII. Of all places in the world, we moved to be close with family on the Big Island. So that is where my story is now. Currently living in Hawaii with my amazing husband, capturing couples love story through photography, and still paving the way for my education. I am honored to be a photographer and it has been the best decision of my life.

If you ever are wondering if photography is where you are supposed to be, you will know. You will know when you take the images and feel so much joy through the process. Being a photographer is not easy, but it is the BEST job in the world.
